Course Prerequisites:

• Possess a valid AHA PALS Provider card

• Possess a valid BLS Provider card 

• Complete the PALS Instructor Essentials shopcpr.heart.org

• The manuals required for this course are available in paperback or eBook:

Course Monitoring:

Within 6 months following the successful completion of the Instructor course, the instructor candidate must be monitored teaching by Training Center Faculty (The TC may require additional monitoring, if needed). 

$595 PRICE INCLUDES MONITORING IN SPECIFIC AREAS, AND CERTIFICATION CARD COST.

 ADDITIONAL COST OF $100 PER STUDENT TO BE MONITORED AT ADDITIONAL SITES. PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO SCHEDULED MONITORING SESSION.

Successful Completion:

• Complete all prerequisites
• Attend the instructor classroom portion
• Demonstrate BLS and PALS provider skills with expert proficiency
• Pass the PALS provider written examination
• Pass the PALS instructor written examination
• Competently evaluate another student running a Megacode
• Complete any instructor updates as per the AHA (if applicable)

• Certification Cards:

  PALS Instructor certification is valid for a period of 2 years. To maintain PALS Instructor status, you must teach a minimum of 4 ACLS classes during your 2-year certification period prior to renewal. Your PALS instructor card supersedes the PALS provider card.
